With the new Keeping Children Safe in Education having come into force from September, schools will see some significant changes around online safety. This half day workshop will look at the following:
- The key changes from previous versions around online safety
- The new responsibilities being placed on schools and those who run them
- How children are educated
- New technical requirements/capabilities
During the session we will review the impact that these changes will have on schools, both in terms of the staff (in particular the safeguarding lead and governors/proprietors) as well as the new requirements around filtering and monitoring of networks.
This workshop will be useful for those with responsibility for safeguarding young people including governors and academy proprietors with a role in that area. We will also look at other changes around issues such as sexting where new guidance has been issued and impacts on KCSIE.
The date for this half day workshop is Thursday 13th October and for schools taking our Digital Safeguarding Community package this session is free.
