The General Data Protection Regulation comes into force on 25th May 2018 and their is a lot of speculation about what it will mean for organisations including schools that process data on a daily basis. This isn’t something we should be scared of if we are taking our responsibilities around data protection seriously.
Inevitably myths spread particularly via the internet so to help counteract these , the ICO has started to produce a Myth Buster blog which helps to clear up the misinformation before it goes unchecked. They are concerned that if they don’t do this, we risk losing sight of what this new law is about – greater transparency, enhanced rights for citizens and increased accountability.
