Getting young people to think about there behavior online is core to staying safe and avoiding risk but it isn’t always helped by social media tools such as https://sayat.me/. On its front page it advertises its services as “Get anonymous and honest feedback about yourself.”
It describes what is does in this way;
1. Create your personal feedback web address
2. Spread the link through Twitter, Facebook, Skype, etc.
3. Read what people think about you
4. Publish your favourite feedback
Unfortunately experience tells us that an anonymous feedback tool is often seen by some young people as an opportunity to be offensive. We need to keep making our young people aware of the risks around using such sites before this site and those like it go on to create issues which evidence is telling us that they already are leaving schools and parents to pick up the damage. One more to be aware of!
